A 9-year-old girl was injured on Tuesday, Oct. 4 after being struck by a pickup truck in northeast San Angelo, according to a San Angelo police press release.

SAPD and fire department was dispatched to the 2100 block of East 37th St. around 4:45 p.m. for the report of a girl hit by a vehicle.

The driver of the 2013 Chevrolet 1500 pickup was a 54-year-old San Angelo woman. She "...was traveling eastbound on East 37th when the victim, who was running northbound across the street, ran into the vehicle's path," according to a SAPD press release.

The victim was transported to San Angelo Community Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.
