Churches modify service schedules because of increased health concerns

Some West Texas houses of worship have begun to modify services out of growing health concerns surrounding the spread of coronavirus.

TEXAS, USA — In light of growing health concerns of the spread of coronavirus, some churches in West Texas have modified service schedules and activities temporarily.

It is important to note that there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in West Texas, however these steps are being taken as precautionary measures.

ABILENE

Beltway Park

Communion will be available in individual packets. Collection baskets will not be passed, however drop boxes will be available.

At the church's north campus, only 9:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. services are available. 

Services can be viewed from home at beltway.org. 

Grace Point Church

No services have been canceled, however, the 10:45 a.m. service is available online at thegracepoint.com for those who are under the weather.

SAN ANGELO

Catholic Diocese of San Angelo

Temporary changes have been made to Mass practices, including limiting physical contact during services and emptying Holy Water fonts.

PaulAnn Church

Service will be offered LiveStream at 10 a.m. Sunday. Congregants will not gather at the church campus for services Sunday or through the week.

Church officials will continues to monitor the situation and inform church members as decisions are made.
