SCURRY COUNTY, Texas — An 83-year-old Snyder woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday in Scurry County, 0.8 miles west of Snyder.
A preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety said Earline Nealie Stroud was traveling north, in the southbound lane, on CR 253 in a 2018 Toyota RAV 4.
A 1971 drilling rig, driven by Isael Tavarez-Hernandez, 61, of Ira, was traveling south. Tavarez-Hernandez was unable to avoid a collision with Stroud.
Stroud was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. No injuries were indicated in the report for Tavarez-Hernandez.
The collision remains under DPS investigation.
