HASKELL, Texas — The Haskell Consolidated Independent School District closed its secondary campus Tuesday after a fire at the campus overnight. Haskell CISD Superintendent Lonnie Hise said the fire was in the visitor’s locker room on campus.
Hise said the campus fire was the third in a string of fires that happened overnight.
He said he was woken up at approximately 1:30 a.m. Tuesday about the first fire and when he returned to his office at approximately 3:30 a.m., he learned about a second fire at the Church of Christ.
According to Hise, there is a 16-year-old minor, who is not a Haskell ISD student, in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
This is a developing story. More information will be posted as it becomes available from officials.
