Former San Angelo ISD teacher arrested for improper relationship with student

According to the San Angelo Police Department, the man was arrested Jan. 30 without incident in Midland. The SAISD said Larsson is a former employee.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A 23-year-old man has been arrested for improper relationship between educator and student and indecency with a child by contact.

According to a press release from the San Angelo Police Department, on Nov. 14, 2020, San Angelo Independent School District administration contacted the department’s Crimes Against Children Unit with information about a possible improper relationship between a teacher and a 14-year-old student.

Pursuant to the subsequent investigation, arrest warrants for Cole Larsson, 23, were obtained for the offenses.

Larsson was apprehended without incident in Midland, on Jan. 30, 2021.

Additional charges may be pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.

There was no information given on where Larsson worked within the SAISD in the press release from the SAPD.

The SAISD issued a statement shortly before the SAPD's release saying:

"On Monday, February 1, 2021, San Angelo ISD was notified of an arrest of a former employee involving inappropriate conduct with a minor. The District cannot disclose details regarding a former employee. We rely on law enforcement to take appropriate legal action for situations involving former employees.  

We encourage everyone to report threats of any kind to a district or school official, local law enforcement, or report the concern on our district StayAlert link on the SAISD website.  All reports are taken seriously and are acted upon swiftly."
