FOX West Texas statement regarding obscene sign on parade vehicle in Abilene

FOX West Texas hosted the parade that was recorded and will air this month.

ABILENE, Texas — On Nov. 30, at the FOX West Texas Christmas Lights Parade, a sign with an obscene message was placed on a vehicle after leaving the staging area.

Below is a statement from FOX West Texas President/General Manager Tim Thomas regarding the vehicle:

"Each year, we are proud to host the Abilene Christmas Lights Parade. Unfortunately, this year, a participant placed a sign on their vehicle after leaving the staging area. The sign included offensive language. Please be assured, we take every precaution to keep the Christmas Lights Parade family-friendly and safe, and apologize for this unfortunate situation. We are taking the necessary steps to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again."

An edited version of the parade will be broadcast on FOX West Texas on the following dates:

  • Saturday, Dec. 4 - 8 a.m. (Abilene)
  • Friday, Dec. 24 - 9:30 p.m. (Abilene)
  • Saturday, Dec. 25 - 11 a.m. (Abilene and San Angelo)
