Phase II of the San Angelo Business & Industrial Park has been completed

Phase II provides an additional 118-acres of shovel ready sites for companies to build on.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — For years, the City of San Angelo has been developing the San Angelo Business and Industrial Park, which sits on a 685-acre plot of land in San Angelo. Recently, Phase II of the project has been completed, which provides an additional 118-acres of sites that are ready to be built on and have been certified by AEP.

"Months and months of money and time are already done and ready to go for these companies. So, it makes the process very quick. You have platted land, you have the roads, the infrastructure, the water, the electricity is all right there in place so that a company can make a very quick decision and begin construction immediately if they want to," said Michael Looney, the Vice President of Economic Development for the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce.

Looney says multiple companies have already reached out to him regarding the new land, which offers easy access to US 277/US 67, and the rail port that is soon to be developed nearby. Looney believes adding more companies to the business and industrial park will boost the Concho Valley's economy, which he says is already looking good for 2021.

"This is very important for the industrial development of San Angelo. The industrial sector of any economy is really the platform that supports schools, nonprofits, neighborhoods, and the retail sector. We think San Angelo is going to fair really well in 2021, which is a blessing," he said.

Looney predicts the new land under phase II will be developed in the next 9-12 months. He also says there is more land that could become available at the park if they see a demand for it.
