RV fire results in one fatality in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Wednesday morning in the 900 block of East South 11th Street.

According to a press release from the AFD, crews arrived to find the RV with heavy smoke and flames showing from the windows and roof. An interior fire attack was made when crews found a victim inside the RV.

The victim was removed from the RV and emergency medical services were provided. Despite all efforts, the victim died at the scene.

The RV received major fire damage and is a total loss. The cause of the fire has been ruled as accidental, according to the AFD.

The victim's identity is being withheld until notification of family can be made.
