SAFD responds to structure fire at home on Oxford, no injuries reported

Four fire trucks, a rescue truck, a battalion 'wagon' and an ambulance from the San Angelo Fire Department responded to a fire at a home on Oxford Drive.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo Fire Department is investigating a structure fire at a home in the 3600 block of Oxford Drive. A call for the structure fire came after 8 a.m. Thursday.

"We arrived and did have a working fire," SAFD Battalion Chief Stacy Wright said. "We had four trucks, a rescue truck, an ambulance and a battalion wagon that showed up. Crews did an outstanding job stopping the fire."

At this point, Wright said, is the phase where the fire marshal is working the investigation.

The residence was being lived in, Wright said, however, he was not yet aware if anyone was home at the time of the fire. A Red Cross representative was at the scene to try to help the resident(s).

No injuries were reported from the scene.

A Nixle alert was issued to the public, advising to avoid the area while the fire department worked to clear the scene.

The fire marshal's investigation will determine where the fire started in the home and the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
