SAN ANGELO, Texas — On Tuesday, March 24, the San Angelo Police Department donated 42 JetPacks and 80 MiFi devices, mobile WiFi hotspots, to the San Angelo Independent School District.

During this unprecedented time, the SAISD said in a press release it is looking for ways to supply WiFi to students who do not have access at home. This donation is the next step to add additional access points in addition to campus and bus WiFi options.

"San Angelo ISD extends sincere appreciation to the San Angelo Police Department for their dedication to making a difference for our students," the release stated.

More details will follow on how the SAISD plans to distribute the devices to students. The release noted all distributions will be need-based.
