Fairmount Cemetery to clean burial grounds Friday, Jan. 15

Anyone wanting to preserve items will need to remove them by the end of the day Friday, Jan. 8.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Fairmount Cemetery's staff will clean burial grounds Friday, Jan. 15 and will remove flowers and other items to allow the property to be properly cleaned and trimmed.

According to a City of San Angelo email, anyone wanting to preserve items should remove them from the gravesites before the end of the day Friday, Jan.8.  Items can be returned to the cemetery, 1100 W. Avenue N, beginning Friday, Jan. 29.

Items left at gravesites will be picked up and held through Thursday, Jan. 28. The City will dispose of unclaimed items starting Friday, Jan. 29, the release said.

Lot owners are reminded that flowers should only be placed to the sides or in cradles on top of monuments, according to the release.
