SAPD: Two wanted people arrested after pursuit

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Two people were arrested after San Angelo Police attempted to stop a vehicle after its driver picked up a woman from a local motel.

According to an SAPD press release, Saturday afternoon, an SAPD Gang Unit officer saw a wanted subject, Casey Hines, 43, in a Jeep Patriot at a San Angelo motel in the 1100 block of North Chadbourne Street. The officer saw Hines stop the vehicle and pick up another wanted subject, Elizabeth Usery, 27, at the motel.

Officers started following the Jeep and saw Hines begin to drive in reckless manner, the release said. A marked patrol unit tried to stop Hines, at which point, he started to evade detention with his vehicle.

After a brief vehicle pursuit, the Jeep was found abandoned in the 4800 block of Lake Drive. Officers quickly established a perimeter and were able to find Hines in an abandoned house in the 5000 block of Lake Drive.

He was charged with evading arrest/detention with a motor vehicle; evading arrest/detention on foot; multiple city warrants; reckless driving; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Usery was found at a home in the 700 block of East 21st after further investigation was conducted.

She was arrested for her county warrants, as well as evading arrest/detention on foot.
