RICHARDSON, Texas — Updated at 9:45 p.m. after US 75 reopened.

The driver of a fuel truck died Wednesday after his vehicle crossed through the concrete center divider of US 75, his truck overturned and caught fire in the northbound lanes, officials said.

Richardson police identified the driver as 28-year-old Colten Everett King of Weatherford, Texas.

The crash and fire shut down all northbound lanes of U.S. 75 and some southbound lanes Wednesday at the Campbell Road exit, Texas Department of Transportation officials said.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m.

Around 9 p.m. Richardson police confirmed all northbound lanes were clear after crews worked to clean up the spill and made repairs to the center median.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and police are still investigating what caused King to cross into the northbound lanes.
