TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — As there is ongoing construction at the Tom Green County Courthouse, District Clerk Anthony Monico said the district clerk's office and the district courts are working to avoid any interruptions possibly caused in the respective offices.

Beginning next week Monico said the electrical power to the district courthouse will be completely shut down and staff will not be able to stay in the building.

Even with the interruption, the district clerk's office and district courts are still committed to serving the public and will not close, Monico said.

Both will be moving to a remote work environment.

In order to achieve this, the district clerk's office will close down early this week and work remotely beginning next week, July 11-15. During that week, the office will be under a restricted access setting and will be unable to have public access to the office.

Monico said the clerk's office will still conduct business via email (district.clerk@co.tom-green.tx.us); and by telephone (325-659-6579 - Civil/family, 325-659-6582 - Felony/juvenile) and will still be processing e-filings and paperwork to the district courts as normal during the week.

It's anticipated that staff will begin transitioning back to the courthouse for normal operations July 18.
