Two drivers injured in morning crash on Harris and Main

The drivers of two vehicles were both transported to a local hospital for treatment Monday morning after a crash at Main Street and Harris Avenue.

SAN ANGELO — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning at the intersection of North Main Street and East Harris Avenue.

According to the San Angelo Police Department traffic division on scene, the call for service was initially advised as a three-vehicle collision.

The crash involved a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by an unidentified male, traveling northbound on Main Street; and a Mazda SUV, driven by an 89-year-old female traveling on East Harris.

Police said the woman in the Mazda disregarded the red light at the intersection, causing her vehicle to collide with the pickup truck.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

SAPD said the crash remained under investigation and no citations had yet been issued at the time of their statement.
