SAN ANGELO, TX — The renowned Lonestar Cheeseburger Company is in hot water after the food truck owner received a letter from the city of San Angelo stating his mobile business was out of compliance with city regulations. Our Brenda Matute has the details on what this means for the future of this burger business.

"We first alerted everybody in 2015 that they needed to demonstrate mobility," said Anthony Wilson, public information officer for the city of San Angelo.

Mobility, that's what's stirring up the food truck industry in San Angelo.

"We really hope that Mr. Condon complies so that we can continue to enjoy the really delicious fair that he offers over there," said Wilson.

According to the city Lonestar Cheeseburger has failed to show that they are in fact a "mobile" food vendor, which is determine by driving from one location to another at least once a year.

"Lonestar Cheeseburger has been there for many years and the only time that that truck has ever moved is when it burned down and the char remains of that had to be removed from the property," said Wilson.

But Tim Condon, owner of Lonestar Cheeseburger Company, says he doesn’t know why he has to move when his truck is not fixed to the ground and is readily movable.

"A lot of times even the people on the city staff don’t know what the rule is for a certain question," said Condon.

Today he held a press conference to announce he and several other vendors are coming together to form a food truck alliance.

"I’ve got about 8 or 9 that signed up in the last 15 minutes and on Facebook I’ve got about 10 or 15 pledged already," said Condon.

Whether this comes as a retaliation for the notice he received is unclear.

"It’s really about time that a food truck alliance is formed," said Condon.

The city says Condon has 10 days to prove he is in compliance or appeal the revocation of his permit.
