SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo's new VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, 4240 Southwest Blvd., will begin seeing patients at 8 a.m. Aug. 5.

A press release from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs said with 9,880 square-feet (more than double the size of the existing location), the new space will better accommodate the healthcare needs of area veterans.

Services at the clinic include primary care and mental health services, lab collection, social work, tele-health services, and home-based primary care. Hours of operation will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A ribbon-cutting celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 20.

Guided tours of the facility will be available during the event, which is open to the public. Clinicians and staff from VA primary care, women’s health, mental health, suicide prevention, eligibility and social work services will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information.

Veterans who have not yet enrolled for VA health care can apply on the spot.
