SAN ANGELO, Texas — Shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the intersection of Knickerbocker Road and Parkview Drive for a major traffic collision.
According to SAPD Sgt. Cade Solberry, a black Chevrolet Cruze was on Parkview, turning onto Knickerbocker and a red Ford Mustang was traveling east on Knickerbocker, when the driver of the Cruze disregarded the red light.
The Cruze collided with the Mustang, caused it to spin around and continued into the Julio’s Burritos parking lot. The Cruze then went over a divider in the parking lot and struck the front end and hood of a parked Chevrolet Avalanche in the next lot.
The driver of the Mustang was not treated for injuries at the scene. The driver of the Cruze was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Solsberry said the driver of the Cruze will be issued a citation for disregarding a red light.
