ABILENE, TX. — The nonprofit, Global Samaritan Resources has established a new form of fundraising.
11 teams from the community stepped up and competed in gurney races in the streets of Abilene.
First financial Bank won the gurney race, while Hardin-Simmons University won the costume contest.
The top fundraising team was the Hanner Supercenter. Over $13,000 was raised from all teams.
The fundraiser will contribute to the mission of collecting and redistributing items around the world, and it all starts right here in Abilene.
