SAN ANGELO, Texas — Quiet weather has dominated West Texas, and will continue to do so. Very few of us will pick up on some isolated shower chances once again on Friday. Most of us will remain completely dry with partly cloudy conditions and near average temperatures.
This will be the case as well this weekend, with mostly sunny conditions and temperatures just about average. Sunday will be slightly hotter than Saturday as we begin to warm up heading into next week. Triple digits may be right around the corner once again as we get to mid-week.
The big weather story continues to be Tropical Storm Barry, which is expected to make landfall on Saturday in southern Louisiana. The main concern continues to be the heavy rainfall, with some locations expected to pick up between 10 and 15 inches of rain.
With the Mississippi river already in flood stage, officials are concerned what additional rainfall may lead to. Evacuations are already in place in some low lying areas in the state and Louisiana is under a state of emergency.
