San Angelo Community Medical Center has a new robot working with them.

Today people of all ages were invited to "test drive" XI a machine doctors use while in the operating room. The machine will be used to perform different procedures such as hernias and chest procedures.

The hospital is excited to have this new equipment because it will help a patient greatly.

Dr. Michael K. Boyd says, “it allows them to get back to work faster they have a lot less pain operatively which they enjoy a lot less pain medication.”

SACMC introduced its first robot-assisted technology in 2013. The hospital plans on having the new robot up in running by March.
