It was the first day of school for San Angelo Independent School District and schools say it's okay if students don't have all their supplies yet.

For parents who were unable to gather all the supplies on the lists, by the first day, San Angelo ISD said, it's okay.

Farrah Gomez, the district's executive director of schools, said, "Even if the child comes and tells you they must have everything ready for Friday morning, if you have to take the weekend to get those supplies, teachers understand."

Gomez recommends getting children prepared as possible for the first day of school, however, she also suggests utilizing the next few days to buy the rest of the supplies.
