A 9/11 memorial will be rededicated at 10 a.m. Friday near Celebration Bridge along the Concho River.
A memorial was dedicated on Sept. 8, 2003 in honor of the victims who died in the Sept. 11 attack.
The monument was erected adjacent to the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts.
In June 2016 the monument was vandalized and a piece of steal stolen.
On Friday the rededication will feature a performance by Fort Concho Elementary School students and a keynote address from Rosendo "Rosey" Velez.
Velez was a New York City first responder during the Sept. 11 attack.
A steel artifact from the World Trade Center was contributed by Velez for the rededication.
Police continue to seek those responsible for vandalizing the property.
