SAN ANGELO, TX — It's a good way to beat the heat and score some cool savings at sunset mall and all those deals come directly to your phone.
"We've sent over 281 messages and offers,” Sabrina Tatsch, General Manager of Sunset Mall said.
Those messages and offers are called ShopPings, and when you sign up you'll get those alerts whenever you go to Sunset Mall.
"You're already here so that way you know where the deals are,” Tatsch said.
The registration process is easy. Go to Sunset Mall's free wifi. When you log in, you'll get a code. Text that code to 444-222.
"Now we don't want to bombard you with a whole bunch of text messages for the day so you're never going to get more than a few per day,” Tatsch said.
Those deals range from buy one get one, to a certain percentage off a purchase to annual or semi-annual sales. Any store in the mall can participate in the program. Including the many local retailers who have set up shop inside. Shop-pings are already a hit.
"But even without a soft launch, we've had about 1,000 register without the advertising or anything being up yet,” Tatsch said.
The alerts are new to San Angelo but not new to the other retail groups owned by JLL.
"Some of those centers have had it quite a while and it has worked very well for them,” Tatsch said.
