NEW BRAUNFELS - Family and friends of a murdered New Braunfels teen are preparing for a day they thought would never happen.
Thursday is the funeral for Conrad Kuntz in New Braunfels and it's been a heartbreaking five days for those who loved him.
The vigil Wednesday night featured a balloon release with notes written about the slain teen and a tree planted in his honor.
At mid-day, there will likely be a full house at the Tree of Life Church to say goodbye to the 17-year-old.
Police said Kuntz was killed by two other teens Saturday night and they have been booked for murder.
Those who love Kuntz will come to say goodbye to a young man who was on his high school swimming team and according to his obituary, loved snowboarding and wakeboarding too.
He is survived by her parents, grandparents and his sister.
The services for Kuntz are Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Tree of Life Church off of Interstate 35 South in New Braunfels.
Kuntz was not a member of the church, but officials are expecting a huge number to attend so the services were moved here. Church officials said the church can seat 1,300.
