Talk of more S.T.E.M. programming to come to West Texas schools

SAN ANGELO — The agency tonight and elect officials need to hear from our parents as far as the needs and concerns as so when the legislation meet in January whatever new legislation is passed it will benefit our kids here in San Angelo and West Texas,” David Walker said.

Christoval ISD has been selected as one of the school districts that has S.T.E.M programing in their curriculum and has since seen tremendous success.

“Two things that has come from this is are attendance has gone up and our discipline has gone down showing that these students want to learn,” Walker said.

But the problem existing was that students just didn’t know what they wanted to do after college.

“Christoval ISD always has had great scores and we do a very good job of college prep what was lacking was that we could get you into college but those graduates had no idea what they wanted to do as a career,” Walker said.

David Walker the superintendent of Christoval ISD says that by leading our children onto the right path early will only bring a better economy and growth to west Texas.

“Most kids want to have a sense of direction and hopefully we are helping them find that,” Walker said.
