ABILENE, TX — 11 counties in the Big Country have been included in the State Disaster Declaration.
As of Friday Taylor County is eligible for disaster assistance due to the high waters that have come in over the last 2 weeks.
Now, the county will complete the documentation of damages and send back to the governor's office to determine assistance.
Once the documentation is approved inspectors from the federal emergency management agency will be sent out to the sites that have been submitted for repair and replacement.
After the inspector assesses the damages then Taylor County will be able to draw down the funds.
The counties will remain under this declaration of disaster as long as the possible rain continues to cause damages.
