Top 5 locations to take the perfect picture in San Angelo

Looking for a place to snap the perfect picture in San Angelo? Our Brenda Matute has you covered just in time for graduation and summertime family pics.

SAN ANGELO, TX — I followed a local photographer around town who showed me his top 5 spots to snap the perfect photo.

Take a look.

"Most of the time I just grab a ride on my motorcycle and just cruise around town," said Jose Frausto, a local photographer.

Frausto has been taking photos since he was 15, and in a place like San Angelo you might find it impossible to find the perfect backdrop...

But Frausto says that's not entirely true.

"3...2...1... and smile," said Frausto.

Today he took me around his top 5 locations where anyone can capture their picture perfect moment.

"First I ask them what they want to do or what kind of pictures they want to take," said Frausto.

First, the lone wolf bridge.

"I’m doing a session with a couple, and they're doing their thing like just being with each other, they stick out of the picture a lot," said Frausto.

If you happen to go at night, you'll even find it changes colors.

Second, we went down to the International Waterlily Collection, the number one tourist destination in San Angelo.

"It makes it seem like you’re in a different place," said Frausto.

It’s one location that offers the appearance of multiple.

"You go over there and take a picture it makes it look like you’re in a western look, and then if you go over there it kind of looks like you’re in a forest because of the tall trees," said Frausto.

Travel across town and Frausto says sundown is one of the best times to take a photo near the lake.

"Let’s say you’re taking photos like at 12 o’ clock, during the day you get those hard shadows,” said Frausto. “Let’s say you take a picture and your eyes look black and your forehead looks really bright and you don’t want that you want your whole face to show in the picture."

And if you face the opposite direction you find yourself with a forest background.

The last place he suggests is the Rio Concho Park.

"Trying to see the world in a different point of view," said Frausto.

He says to take a good photo you don't even need a fancy camera.

"You just need really good light and an angle," said Frausto.

Just be creative.

"Someone can take a photo similar to that one that you took but no one’s going to take one exactly like it,” said Frausto.
