COMANCHE COUNTY, Texas — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 6, five miles southeast of DeLeon in Comanche County, early Friday morning, according to a preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety released late Monday.
The report states Leigha Skye Pringle, 24, of Dublin, was traveling southeast on SH 6 in a 1997 Ford Explorer; while a 2018 Ford Flex, driven by Willie Earl Webster, 63, of Richmond, was traveling northwest. The Explorer veered into the oncoming lane, crashing head-on into the Flex, the report stated.
Pringle and Diane Kemp Webster, 62, of Richmond, who was a passenger in the Flex, were pronounced dead at the scene. According to the report, Pringle was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Flex, Webster, was transported to Harris Methodist Hospital with serious/incapacitating injuries. His passengers, five-year-old Darian Sims, of Richmond, Zakiyah Bailey, 15 of Richmond, and Miliyah Bailey, 6, of Richmond, were transported to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. The children were reportedly not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Another passenger of the Flex, Craig Hall, 12, of Richmond, was transported to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth with serious/incapacitating injuries.
DPS said the crash remains under investigation.
