January is National volunteer blood donor month and the Concho Valley is doing their part to support the causeThis weekend United Blood Services will be hosted a blood drive that took place next to Marshall’s in Sunset Mall.
With the holiday season over and flu season here blood centers see a decrease in donations around this time.
A local representative Linda Grace says volunteers who donate blood can be vital to saving someone's life

Grace says, “There is no substitute for human blood so if someone you know or love is in the hospital and they need blood to stay alive, it can only come from volunteer blood donors.”

Volunteers received prizes for their donations.
