SAN ANGELO, Texas — An update to a story we've been covering for you involving a double homicide and fire that happened Wednesday morning in the 4800 block of North Chadbourne Street.
On Thursday evening, detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division obtained two warrants of arrest for the offense of murder for Dwayne Chance Chadwick, 36.
Chadwick is accused of murdering Jared Anthony Lohse, 27, and Jack Harris Jr., 50. Lohse and Harris were the two men found dead inside the burning home on North Chadbourne. Preliminary autopsy reports for the men determined the manner of death was homicide resulting from gunshots wounds.
Chadwick, who was developed as a suspect early on in the investigation, was already in custody at the Tom Green County Jail on unrelated charges when the murder complaints were signed. He was arrested twice within 24 hours on charges of driving while license invalid as well as assault causes bodily injury family violence and drug possession.
Chadwick’s bond was set at $2 million.
The San Angelo Police Department said this remains an active investigation and no further information is available for release at this time.
This is not the first time Chadwick has been charged with murder. In March 2008, according to judicial records, he was charged with murder and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. That murder charge was dismissed.
