SAN ANGELO, Texas — The City of San Angelo is looking for volunteers for its annual Neighborhood Paint Blitz, planned for Saturday, April 27.
This year’s effort will target homes in the Belaire neighborhood in northwest San Angelo.
The work day kicks off at 8 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m., or when the painting is complete. Volunteers age 15 and older are welcome. No painting experience is necessary, and all supplies and tools will be provided. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for volunteers.
The Neighborhood Paint Blitz is an annual effort to prevent blight in residential areas by sprucing up the homes of low-income residents, most of whom are elderly and disabled, who otherwise are unable to repaint their houses. Improving individual homes tends to create a positive ripple effect across a neighborhood.
Individuals and teams are being enlisted to help. To sign up or for more information, contact Bob Salas, director of the City’s Neighborhood and Family Services Department, at 325-655-0824 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Neighborhood Paint Blitz is a partnership between the City of San Angelo and Habitat for Humanity’s A Brush with Kindness program.
