SAN ANGELO, Texas — The 1943 San Angelo Bobcats have been nominated as being one of the Top 100 teams in the history of UIL Texas high school football.
According to a San Angelo Independent School District press release, the team was nominated as part of Dave Campbell's Texas Football season-long celebration of UIL 100 Years of Football.
The top 10 Texas high school football teams of all time will be determined by fan vote according to the release.
Each nominated team will be recognized by the UIL and Dave Campbell's Texas Football in a commemorative magazine. The top 10 will be recognized in a ceremony at the UIL State Football Championship in Arlington.
Voting ends at noon Sunday, Oct. 18.
The district is asking the community, parents, students and alumni to vote by visiting TexasFootball.com/UIL100-Teams/Form/.
