Senior Jorge Hernandez is just as special off the field as he is on it. As a captain for the Abilene High, Hernandez is leader for the Eagles.
Hernandez won homecoming king this year for Abilene High. Head Coach Mike Fullen says he is proud to coach a player like Jorge and he "wishes that he could coach a whole team" of Jorge's.
Jorge told me that "winning homecoming king was a great experience" and he was excited to win even though he is usually someone who doesn't love attention. "Football brings out a different side of me on the field, I'm usually more quit and don't like attention to be on me," Jorge added.
From winning homecoming king to being a captain for the Eagles, Jorge is impacting his peers and teammates on and off the field.
