ABILENE, Texas — Abilene Christian tops Southwest 104-54 for their second straight win.
Lexie Ducat led the Wildcats with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Red-shirt Anna McLeod followed behind with 15 points and 7 steals. The team shot 52% from the field, 36% from the 3-point line and 82% from the free-throw line.
Coach Julie Goodenough was pleased with her teams win. "We have a short roster but it has given us a deep bench... we are seeing people move forward every day in practice and I think everyone has been ready to play when they've gone in the game these first two games."
On Tuesday, ACU defeated McMurry at home 111-43 to kick off the season strong. The Wildcats also hung their Southland Conference Championship banner at Moody Coliseum.
McLeod led the Wildcats in scoring with 19 points and Breanna Wright followed closely behind with 17. The team shot extremely well, shooting 67% from the field and 60% from the three-point line. With all players finding minutes on the floor, the bench scored 57 of the Wildcats 111 points.
The Wildcats are 2-0 heading into Friday nights match-up on Nov. 15th against Wright State in Dayton, Ohio.
