ABILENE, Texas — The Bronte Lady Longhorns are learning beyond the basketball court. Coach Torres is building this program to be like a family and teammates that play for one another.
"You're going to play hard if you're playing for someone that you care about, that's the kind of culture we're trying to build here."
Being there for each other is what the team strives for. Senior Zoe Watkins says "we stick together and we are there for each other, basketball is more than just a sport."
This team is playing for Bronte, they are proud of to be a part of this community.
"They want to compete and it's all about taking care of Bronte, their town, they have pride in Bronte so they know when they come out to play it's all a part of that," Torres added.
Bronte plays at Loraine on Tuesday at 6:30pm.
