AUSTIN, Texas — The UIL State Executive Committee met for an emergency hearing Wednesday and found the Wolfforth Frenship High School football team allowed an ineligible player to participate in its Sept. 24 game against San Angelo Central High School at San Angelo Stadium.

The committee determined that Frenship did not exercise sufficient diligence determining the eligibility of the student-athlete. By UIL rule, the minimum penalty for allowing an ineligible player to participate is forfeiture of the game.

With the forfeiture, Central's record is now 2-1 in district play.
