Jameson Richardson was one of 19 in his high school graduating class at Duke high school in Duke, Oklahoma. Now, he is off to fulfill his dream of playing division one basketball at Abilene Christian.
"It was a good fit for me. I liked the coaches and the campus, weight room and gym are awesome," Richardson said.
The best part for Richardson was the face that the Wildcats made a run in March Madness in 2019.
"Me and my dad have been watching March Madness for as long as I can remember. Whenever I had the chance to maybe go do that, it was big for me."
Finding a driven team close to home was important to him.
"They play together and they play for each other... The way they play for each other is awesome."
Richardson is excited for the opportunity to play under head coach Joe Golding. He looks forward to growing as a basketball player and a person.
"He's exciting. He gets after it and that's what I need. Defense is a big thing to coach Golding so that will be new for me."
A big season ahead for ACU basketball with a nice addition to the squad in Jameson Richardson.
