Lake View Chiefs Stumble in Season Opener

The Lake View Chiefs wanted to change things up in 2016, but change is never easy. The Chiefs came into their season opener against Andrews with a brand new offensive and defensive scheme.

The Lake View Chiefs wanted to change things up in 2016, but change is never easy. The Chiefs came into their season opener against Andrews with a brand new offensive and defensive scheme.

There are some serious growing pains on the North Side. At halftime the Mustangs held onto an 8 point lead, but then after the break Andrews racked up 37 points.

The Chiefs offense couldn't keep up as the Mustangs defense held them to just a touchdown after the break, and the old ball coach says they can only blame themselves.

"We just shot ourselves in the foot offensively. The score looks really bad but we kept giving the ball to Andrews offense quickly and that's one thing we didn't need to do," said head coach Doug Kuhlmann.

Lake View will focus on fixing their own mistakes as they head into their season opener.

"There all mistakes that we can take care of, so we feel good about going into Fort Stockton," said coach Kuhlmann.
