SNYDER, Texas — Snyder football is back to work on the field for summer workouts. Head coach Wes Wood is looking forward to his second year as head coach of the Tigers.
"We're trying to not let COVID-19 set us back so we can maintain that second year growth that a lot of people will talk about. Good things are going to happen if you work hard and we're trying to pass that on to our kids," coach Wood said.
Although this is a challenging time for teams across the state, there is no denying that players are thankful to be back to training again even if it's at a distance.
"I think the kids finally realize how blessed we are. Some of the things we took for granted, including coaches... We've had great attendance. Even though it's spaced out we are still getting to work together and start rebuilding together."
Coach Wood believes this time is going to make his team that much better in the long run.
"A person is not defined how they operate when times are easy. Teams, people, individuals, entire organizations, they are defined on how they operate and how they improve and grow from the struggles and hard times."
FOX West Texas will continue to cover teams across West Texas this summer and we look forward to having you follow along. If you have any story ideas email email@example.com.
