HAMILTON, Texas — Four people, including two children, died following a head-on collision last Thursday near Hamilton, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.

DPS said around 2:43 p.m., the driver of a 2005 Ford F-150, identified 45-year-old Jose Navor Rojas-Resendiz of Bulverde, Texas, drifted from the southbound lane of US 281 into the northbound lane and crashed head-on with a 2022 Kenworth Truck Tractor.

"The impact caused the Ford to be fully engulfed after the collision," DPS said in a news release Monday, June 6.

During the moment of impact, two minors, including a 1-year-old girl, were ejected from the F-150 and died on the scene, DPS said. The other minor's age isn't known, DPS added.

Resendiz, along with passenger 35-year-old Paula Marie Rojas, also died during the crash, DPS said.

DPS said it isn't known why Resendiz crossed into the northbound lane.

The driver of the truck tractor was treated for injuries, but is expected to be ok.
