CROCKETT, Texas — An El Paso man died Feb. 1 in a single-vehicle rollover crash, 12 miles east of Ozona.
According to a preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Lorenzo Edward Noriega, 64, of El Paso, was traveling east on Interstate 10 in the inside lane.
The report states there was a distraction in the vehicle, and Noriega failed to drive in a single lane, veering left into the center median. Noriega then over-corrected back to the right entering a side skid across the center median and into the westbound lane.
Noriega's pickup truck rolled over, coming to rest on its right side on the westbound improved shoulder, facing southeast.
Although Noreiga was wearing a seatbelt, he suffered fatal head injuries during the rollover, the report stated.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
