CHARLOTTE, N.C. — AAA Carolinas is hoping to help you stay safe this St. Patrick's Day weekend.
The auto company is launching "Tow To Go Service" starting Thursday night and continuing through 6 a.m. on Monday, March 20.
If you've had too much to drink and can't drive, the service will tow you and your car to a safe location within 10 miles.
AAA encourages everyone to have a plan this weekend and says their service should be used as a safe, last resort. Their intention is to prevent drunk drivers on the road.
"We are proud to be that last line of defense," Tiffany Wright of AAA Carolinas told WCNC Charlotte. "We don't want any impaired drivers out there on the road, and we are here to save lives."
The service is free to everyone regardless of whether or not they are AAA members. AAA will transport one person and one car. The service does not take reservations.
To request a tow, you can call the AAA "Tow To Go Service" at (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246.
The service is available in Charlotte -- and nationwide in select locations.
