A beautiful Thanksgiving ahead, but much cooler air follows the holiday

Temperatures on Thanksgiving will climb into the 70s with southwesterly winds. A much cooler weather pattern sets up for the weekend.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — After a slightly cooler Wednesday, winds will shift out of the southwest in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. With mainly sunny skies expected, Thanksgiving looks beautiful with temperatures climbing into the middle to upper 70s. This is about 15 degrees above normal for late-November.

A cold front will move into West Texas Friday morning, setting up much cooler air for the coming weekend.

Along with cooler temperatures, rain chances will increase Friday evening and into Saturday. The best chance for rain showers will be Saturday morning.

Temperatures through the weekend and into next week will run slightly below average. Morning temperatures early next week may fall below freezing.
