Drizzly, cloudy and cool conditions dissipate just in time for Friday night high school football

Cloudy skies, scattered light rain and mist continues through the lunch hour across West Texas. By kickoff time this evening, clearing skies and warmer temps on tap.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Rain has soaked West Texas the last few days. Forty-eight hour rain totals show 3-6 inches of rain has fallen across a good portion of the Concho Valley and the Big Country.

Low level clouds continue to move across West Texas Friday morning, with mist and scattered light rain. These dreary conditions are expected to continue through the lunch hour.

This evening, clouds will begin to dissipate and shower activity will come to an end. Many areas will see sunshine come out before sunset, allowing temperatures to climb briefly into the 70s.

Any Friday night football plans across West Texas look fantastic and the weather will be nearly perfect. Partly cloudy skies with temperatures close to 70 degrees are likely for games throughout the area.

This weekend also looks to be very pleasant with mainly sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs reaching the middle 80s. An isolated shower is possible this weekend, but only 10 to 20% coverage is expected with any shower activity that may develop.
