West Texas Weather: Warm Easter weekend

Meteorologist Britton Musall has your Thursday night forecast.

TEXAS, USA — It has been a relatively cool day for us in West Central Texas. However, we do have some showers and thunderstorms popping up around the area, and I expect that activity to stay around with us for a few hours.

Any thunderstorms we do see pop-up have the potential, not the guarantee of producing quarter-sized hail and gusty winds. That risk is why the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has highlighted the eastern third of our viewing area for a marginal (1/5) risk for severe thunderstorms.

By 10 p.m. Wednesday evening our severe weather threat will be over for our area, but be sure to keep an eye on the sky until then. After this shot at some rain we really look to stay dry and very warm for Easter weekend.

In fact, by Easter Sunday, I'm forecasting a high temperature near 90°. I know, I hate forecasting it as much as you hate hearing it, but early in April we'll see a cold front come through and bring us some much cooler temperatures.
