As southeast Texas deals with flooding from the remnants of Imelda, West Texas has remained dry and hot. Temperatures once again reached the triple digits on Wednesday, and the heat is expected to last through the forecast period.
Thursday will once again see temperatures climb to the upper 90s, with mainly sunny conditions. During the evening hours, showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop to the west and slowly try to make their way into the area. About 10-20% coverage on these showers and storms this evening. Better rain chances will come overnight and during the day on Friday, especially in the Big Country.
Meanwhile, heavy rain continues in far east Texas and into parts of Louisiana due to the remnants of Imelda. Flooding is already a problem in parts of far southeast Texas, and more rain is forecast through Friday.
