SAN ANGELO, Texas — It's been an active weather pattern over the past several weeks for West Texas. Many days have been cloudy with precipitation in parts of the area, particularly in the Big Country.
Abilene has seen 2.24" of rainfall, compared to its normal 0.80" expected through Feb. 17.
This active weather pattern is expected to continue over the next several days. Sunshine will be hard to come by as clouds are expected to prevail through the end of the week. Temperatures will also respond to the cloud-cover, struggling to climb out of the 40s through Friday afternoon.

Rain showers will develop to the south overnight Tuesday into early Wednesday morning. Locations along Interstate 10 have the best chances to see passing showers through early Wednesday.
Throughout the day Wednesday, rain is expected to move northward. Locations in the Concho Valley and Big Country can expect scattered rain showers through the evening hours.
These wet conditions will persist into Thursday morning. Showers will be less widespread Thursday, with much of the moisture expected to fall Wednesday. However, clouds and dreary conditions are expected to continue into Friday.
By the end of the week, locations throughout the area will pick up anywhere from a quarter-inch of rain to more than an inch of rain. Most of the rainfall will occur to the east into portions of Central Texas.
