SAN ANGELO, Texas — Mainly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures were seen throughout West Texas Friday. Much of the day was spent in the 50s with isolated rain showers in parts of the area. Friday evening will be mainly dry, with temperatures hovering in the lower 50s.
Overnight, increasing rain showers will move into the area from the south. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely across portions of the Concho Valley by 3 a.m.
Showers will continue to increase in coverage Saturday morning with light to moderate activity likely throughout the entire region.
This activity will continue throughout the day Saturday. Coverage will begin to subside by the late-afternoon hours. The greatest activity will be in our eastern locations, and towards the Hill Country.
Rain totals will range from a quarter of an inch to over an inch in isolated locations. The heaviest totals will be to the east.
Due to the rain, temperatures will be well below average Saturday. Temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40s during the afternoon hours.
More sunshine will return Sunday, but temperatures will stay cool throughout the next week.
