SAN ANGELO, Texas — Winds turned out of the south Monday, bringing temperatures back above average after a cold front moved through West Texas Sunday. Breezy southerly winds at upwards of 30 mph will continue overnight. This will create a mild overnight period into Tuesday morning, with morning lows only falling into the 50s.
During the day Tuesday, strong southwesterly winds are expected with gusts in excess of 30 mph likely.
This will increase temperatures well above average for late-November. Some locations will top out above 80 degrees Tuesday afternoon.
A cold front will move into the region Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This will create much cooler conditions early Wednesday, with temperatures expected to fall into the 30s.
The front will be moving through West Texas dry, but shower activity is expected in central and eastern Texas, and severe weather likely in Oklahoma Tuesday evening.
Winds will turn southerly once again into Thanksgiving, bringing warmer conditions for the upcoming holiday. Highs on Thanksgiving will run about 10-15 degrees above average.
